Walkers silhouetted against a pale orange horizon

Our Story in the Quiet Hours

A neighbour-led walking circle that grew from two friends meeting at sunrise into a welcoming weekly tradition.

How It Began

In 2019, a small pair of neighbours started meeting before work for a twenty-minute loop around a local park. Word spread through community boards and café windows.

Today, volunteer walk leaders rotate each Saturday and weekday slot. We keep groups intentionally small so conversations stay audible and paths remain comfortable for mixed abilities.

What We Value

Inclusive pacing

No one is left behind. Leaders check in at junctions and offer shorter cut-throughs when needed.

Social warmth

Walks often end with optional café time — a space to sit, not a requirement to buy anything.

Local awareness

We note seasonal changes, respect park rules, and keep paths litter-free as a shared courtesy.

Walk Leaders

Leaders are volunteers who know each route by landmarks — the bent oak, the bridge with morning mist, the bakery corner. They carry a basic first-aid pouch and a charged phone for directions only.

If you would like to lead a loop, contact us to discuss training and scheduling. Experience with group facilitation is helpful but not required.
